4 Key Rookie (RC) Stickers
Taylor Hall, Jeff Skinner, Tyler Seguin and Jordan Eberle.
There are 36 different fabric stickers to collect in this set. Over a 2 case (32 box) opening, I pulled 589 Fabric stickers. This averaged to only 18.4 Fabric stickers per box or 1 Fabric sticker in every 2.7 packs of stickers. Consider that there are 36 different Fabrics to collect, you would have to open 97.2 packages or almost 2 full boxes JUST to get 36 Fabric stickers (this does not even guarantee you one of each. There are 60 different Foil stickers to collect. There are 3 types of foils: rookies, All-Stars and Team Stars. Over a 2 case (32 box) opening I pulled 736 foils. This averaged out to 23 Foils per box or 1 Foil every 2.2 packs. Consider that there are 60 different Foils to collect, it would take you about just under 3 boxes to get 60 Foils. (This does not even guarantee you one of each). The other regular paper glossy style stickers in this set were issued at a rate of about once or more per box. Some Coyotes and Canucks stickers were produced at a rate of about 2 per box. Panini keeps changing their website set up for Canada and the USA which makes it very confusing to order missing stickers. After 2 calendar years of being released, Panini’s website doubles the price to collect “missing stickers”. This year celebrates 50 years of Panini making stickers and 24 years (1987-2011) of making NHL stickers. Making some stickers harder to pull from packs than others makes this set even more desirable to collect.
The size of each full sticker is 8 cm X 5.6 cm (3.1 in X 2.2 in). There were 50 packages in each wax box which originally retailed for $.99 a pack. Each package contained 7 stickers. The minimum number of packages needed to make a full set (assuming absolutely no doubles) is 51. The original album ($1.99 USD) cover featured Sidney Crosby, Tim Thomas, Steven Stamkos, Nicklas Lidstrom, Daniel Sedin and P.K. Subban. The Stanley Cup winners were the Boston Bruins with goalie Tim Thomas winning the Conn Smythe Trophy as the NHL Playoffs MVP.
This was the 94th season of operation of the NHL (93rd of play). Taylor Hall was the 1st overall draft pick and played in his first NHL season. This was the season of the concussion. Sidney Crosby missed half the season, and the league and everyone else is taking serious notice. Stricter enforcement of “head-shots” took centre stage. The Atlanta Thrashers were re-located to Winnipeg and will start playing in the NHL in 2011-12 again after a 15 year absence. The second ever Heritage Classic was played in Calgary, Alberta on February 20, 2011.
The NHL moved the troubled Atlanta Thrashers to Winnipeg for the 2011-2012 NHL season. This was contingent on the Winnipeg market being able to sell 13,000 season tickets with a 5 year commitment. They accomplished this feat in less than 1 hour. After many name submissions from fans, the team name the “Jets” was reborn. This was the second time an NHL team has failed in Atlanta (last time being when the Flames moved to Calgary for the 1980-81 season). The Jets come back to Winnipeg after 16 years away. It should be noted that the “original” Jets franchise is the Phoenix Coyotes who, ironically enough, have major problems attracting fans in their market as well.
This album measures about 4.9 cm X 6.5 cm (1.93 in X 2.56 in) and comes to you in near mint condition and currently sits empty with no stickers.
